Whaiora Marae
A place where inner man is satisfied
Whaiora Marae History
Whaiora marae is nestled in the urban setting of Otara, Taamaki Makaaurau. It is carved with representations of all tribal areas as depicted in the whakairo within the whare tuupuna.
This enables whaanau, hapuu and iwi to engage with their respective kawa when utilising the facilities. However, whaanau, hapuu, iwi and manuwhiri are expected to uphold the rules and regulations of Whaiora marae and tiikanga such as no eating and drinking in the whare tuupuna. Whaiora is situated within a group of entities that are a part of the Parish of St John the Evangelist.
